Rehearsal is where the rough edges become part of the personality. We try arrangements, change keys, move songs around, and occasionally discover that the tune we nearly dropped is exactly the one the set needed.
The goal is not to make every night identical. It is to know the music well enough that we can watch the room, stretch a moment when it feels right, and change direction when the crowd gives us a better idea.
